Hi Canucklehead,

I think you're right it is a difficult question to answer. However, I think it's the one question that needs the most of attention, especially now, when blogging is this big. By answering the difficult questions we find the answers that would ease our problem the most.

And I have been positively corrupted by the books I've read, so I'm going to say that the more difficult problem, the easier must be the solution to the problem. :)

I find myself a lot from your answer; I tend to bounce from subject to another when bloggin, even though I'm a big fan of music and all creative stuff, I write a lot beyond that. This seems to divide people in roughly in half on blogging: the other half writes and reads blogs on certain subject while the other half writes and reads with a more wide range of subjects.

I don't believe that varying with the subjects will make you lose readers. We have to remember - it's all about the content. If you still write interesting stuff of different thing, people who fell in love on your blog, are going to stay.

All in all, intesting blogging makes blogging interesting.

I think your question, while clearly well intentioned, is a difficult to answer. I tend to skip from subject to subject and am most interested in topics and subjects that I never would have thought of in advance. While I doubt I'm typical, the blogs I tend to revisit are ones that cover a variety of topics. Of course, the 'experts' will warn that you lose readers by varying from the subject that readers come to expect from your blog - but I can only assure you that in my case the opposite is in fact true.

No doubt things will come full circle and 'pure blogs' will be the train on which to jump. I'm guilty of widgitisation (is that a word?) but equally enjoy a clean uncluttered layout. I admire anybody who walks their own path rather than follow the herd.

Well well. Isn't it interesting to see how people describe themselves? Even though I can't deny, it doesn't differ that much from my point of view. I already thought I had lost the sense of Carpe Diem but not now that I found you again.
